Every effort on this Gallery site has been made to accurately represent the vibrant colours of Sam’s images. Due to differences in computer screens and certain other variations, the images here should only to be taken as a guide. Obviously, the colour and sharpness of a finished print are far superior to what can be presented on a small screen.
The Big Drift
$200.00 – $2,800.00
By far the best hidden treasure in Wilsons Promontory. The Big Drift is located about 200km from Melbourne and is the Southernmost point in Victoria. A very easy trail to miss as it is located right at the entrance to the park. It has taken me over a dozen trips to the Prom to actually visit this amazing vista of sheer beauty. As you start the 2.5 km hike from the car park the stroll is enjoyable until you hit the last 100 meters. Then it’s struggle time. A decent slope in heavy sand isn’t fun especially when you are carrying gear like me. Once atop the crest you are treated to nature at its best. Akin to a vista in the Sahara you fail to believe you are in Wilsons Promontory, but the big drift makes you admire the prom more as it brings a versatility like no other national Parks around the world. Sunset is definitely the time to go and due to its beauty you can see why I have a few variations on this website. Please visit this amazing National Park.
