The Bolte bridge bypasses Melbourne’s CBD and in doing so gives you a fabulous vista of Melbourne’s skyline. For years I have wondered how to get this shot. While doing roadworks on one of the exit ramps I saw an opening in which I could park my car safely and take this shot. All I needed was a complimentary night sky which in Melbourne is not easy. The night came and off I went, timing my run so I could be there for the least amount of time possible. The foreground between the city and the bridge isn’t very flattering so I have cropped it out. This was a 2 year process of waiting and finally here it is.

Paper:

Ilford Galerie Crystal Gloss (290gsm): This stunning paper offers photographers the ability to print images with a true ‘wow’ factor. The iridium finish gives every image a three-dimensional look ensuring that each print truly comes to life. We place a matting around the image to add depth to the overall look.

Ink:

Epsons Ultrachrome K3 inks are pigment based. They offer strong deep blacks, rich shadow detail and a broad smooth colour gamut, allowing for prints of tremendous impact. Independent print permanence tests indicate the lifespan of these inks when used on high quality papers as over 100 years before visible fading occurs.

Printer:

We print on our EPSON Stylus Pro 11880 printer with top of the range SERENDIPITY MEGARIP and expertly profiled by Les Walking ensuring consistency and quality every time. The 9 colour Epson UltraChrome K3 archival pigment ink system has the broadest colour gamut in its class. We can print to a maximum image width of 60inch by any length at the highest 2880dpi resolution. The Epson 11880 can print on all types of media with clarity, colour balance and precision.
