Every effort on this Gallery site has been made to accurately represent the vibrant colours of Sam’s images. Due to differences in computer screens and certain other variations, the images here should only to be taken as a guide. Obviously, the colour and sharpness of a finished print are far superior to what can be presented on a small screen.
Giraffe portrait
$210.00 – $2,700.00
As we entered the Serengeti we observed these Giraffes standing in the open. As we stopped to watch them they formed a line and stared at us. Which is exactly the picture I have taken here.
I can speak for all the National Parks in Africa when I say that you never know what you are going to see. Too many factors influence this but he element of surprise is always something I love. The time was approx 7.30am and as we turned a corner this is what I saw. I told the driver to stop. Which usually doesn’t happen unless I am exhilarated by what I see. The balloon just made the scene more tranquil so I snapped this gorgeous moment in time.
Serengeti National Park was one of the first sites listed as a World Heritage Site. Already by the late 1950s, this area had been recognised as a unique ecosystem. Today, most visitors come here with one aim alone: to witness so many types and kinds of animals. Whereas other famous wildlife parks are fenced, the Serengeti is protected, but unfenced. Giving animals enough space to make their return journey, one that they’ve been doing for millions of years.
